7 Habits-A Brief Summary

Live your Life and Actions/Behaviors based on Principles.
Focus on building your Character.
Have confidence in your actions - ultimately they will make you a better person and help you lead a more effective Life.
Habit 1: Be Proactive.
Take personal responsibility for your behavior and actions.
Spend time in the Circle of Control and Circle of Influence; do not spend time in the Circle of Concern.
Habit 2 : Begin with the End in Mind .
Have a clear goal on what you want to accomplish.
Visualize the desired outcome and act accordingly.
Identify your Purpose in Life - draft your Personal Mission Statement.
Take actions which are aligned to your Personal Mission.
Habit 3: First Things First.
Focus on actions that are Important but not Urgent.
Remember to plan more time working on tasks in this Quadrant.
This will reduce the time spent of Fire-fighting or Urgent and Important matters.
Minimize or Delegate tasks that an be classified as: Urgent but not Important.
Eliminate tasks that are: Not Important / Not Urgent.
Become aware of the different roles you play in life.
Plan on weekly Goals for each of these roles.
Schedule your ' big rocks' first - the tasks that are Important but not Urgent.
The first 3 Habits are to promote more Maturity and Independence.
The next 3 Habits - 4,5,6 - are to promote relationships and Interdependence.
The important point to remember here is acquiring an Abundance Mentality.
Remember the Emotional Bank Account and make regular Deposits in this.
Habit 4: Think Win/ Win
Have a mindset that thinks of outcomes that are of mutual benefit (both you and the other person)
Have a habit of thinking this way during conflict resolutions and negotiations.
Habit 5: Seek first to Understand , then to be understood.
Be a good Listener.
Remember that each one has their own perspective.
Do not Listen with Autobiographical responses.
Habit 6 : Synergize.
Having understood the other person's perspective and having become a good listener - now look for solutions that can collectively
result in an outcome that can create a greater benefit than individual outcomes.
Think creatively to create such synergies.
Habit 7 : Sharpen the Saw.
Constantly work on improving yourself.
Remember your different Dimensions:
Physical
Mental/Intellectual
Emotional/Social
Spiritual.
Schedule actions in your weekly plan that are aimed on improving each of these dimensions.
Safeguard against burn-out.
Increase your personal Productivity.
